When the record does not confirm something, we flag it as a gap. We never guess.
Most tools fail open. They fill the blank with a plausible guess and hope you do not notice. We fail closed. An unconfirmed field is marked as a gap, in plain sight, so a missing fact never travels as if it were a known one.
